Our promise to every child

Safe and settled

A calm, predictable home with clear routines, so children can stop bracing for the next move.

Adults who stay

A small, stable team and a key worker for every child โ€” people who are kind and keep their promises.

Heard every day

Children's views shape their care, their bedroom, their meals and the way the house runs.

Back on track with learning

Full-time education agreed before arrival, with real help with homework, reading and school life.

Proud of who you are

Each child's culture, faith, language and identity is valued, celebrated and supported.

Ready for the future

Everyday life skills and planned, unhurried moves on to whatever comes next.

Hello, I'm Pip! Phoenix Nest is a small home โ€” just two children โ€” so the grown-ups really get to know you. Come and have a look around.

Welcome to Phoenix Nest

We are a trauma-informed, relationship-based children's home caring for up to two children at a time. Being small is the point: it lets us know each child properly, keep life ordinary, and give the steady attention that helps children recover and rebuild trust.

A real family home

A detached, single-storey house on a quiet residential street, with a bedroom of their own for each child and a garden to enjoy.

Growing up in Shipley

Close to Saltaire village, Roberts Park, schools, Shipley College and good bus and rail links to Bradford and Leeds.

Connections that matter

We help children keep โ€” and, where safe, strengthen โ€” relationships with family and friends.

Our mission

Many of the children we expect to care for will have experienced trauma, neglect, family breakdown or several moves in care. Our purpose is to give each child a safe, warm and stable home where they can recover, rebuild trust in adults, do well at school and prepare for their future.

The name says what we hope for every child: a safe nest to rest and grow, and the chance to rise again after difficult experiences.

Rest today. Rise tomorrow.

Our approach in action

  • Relationships first โ€” trust is built through consistency, warmth and adults who keep their word.
  • Behaviour is communication โ€” we respond with curiosity, calm and clear boundaries, not blame.
  • Everyday family life โ€” shared meals, routines, birthdays, days out and ordinary fun.
  • Individual plans โ€” care shaped around each child's needs, strengths and placement plan.
  • Working together โ€” close partnership with placing authorities, schools, health services and families.

Small in size. Steady in care.
