Safety
Children are protected, and feel safe.
A small home, built around children who need adults that stay.
I'm Pip. Let me tell you who we are and why we're called Phoenix Nest.
Phoenix Nest is preparing to open a small children's home in Shipley, West Yorkshire, for up to two children aged 7 to 17. We are preparing our application for registration with Ofsted and will not accept any placement until we are registered.
We care for children who have emotional and behavioural difficulties, often linked to trauma, loss or disrupted attachment. Our home is calm, homely and stable, and every placement is planned carefully with the placing authority, family where appropriate, and the professionals around the child.
Children here are not just placed — they are known, cared for and helped to believe in their future.
A nest is somewhere safe to rest, be looked after and grow strong. A phoenix rises again after hard times. Together they describe what we want for every child: a secure home now, and the confidence to rise towards a brighter future.
Our logo shows a young bird rising from a nest — the adults around the child forming the nest, the child doing the rising.
Phoenix Nest cares for up to two children of any gender, aged 7 to 17 on admission, with matching that considers the needs, safety and privacy of both children. We support children with:
Progress is measured against each child's own starting point — every step forward counts.
Two places means a small, consistent staff team who know each child in detail: what helps them feel safe, what upsets them, what they love and what they're working towards. It means fewer changes, fewer new faces and more time for the ordinary things that make a house a home.
Phoenix Nest is run by Phoenix Nest BFD Limited. Our director, Israr Hussain, is the home's Responsible Individual. He oversees the quality of care, supervises the Registered Manager and makes sure the home has the staff, resources and premises it needs.
The home will be led day to day by an experienced Registered Manager. Add name, qualifications and experience once appointed.
Independent person visits take place every month under Regulation 44, and their reports go to Ofsted and the placing authority.
Children are protected, and feel safe.
Warmth in every interaction, including on hard days.
Adults who do what they say they will do.
Children's voices, identities and choices matter.
We believe every child can grow and do well.
Honest about what works, and quick to improve.
We work closely with placing authorities to make sure every match is right for the child — and for the child already living here.
